Any nice weekend plans?

Morning!

We were battered by Storm Betty last night but it is a lovely morning here so first plan is to open all windows and the back door to freshen up the house.

DH is heading out for a few hours this morning/early afternoon.

I am just getting over 3 weeks of a really horrible cold/virus which wasn't covid but felt like it, so planning a morning of cleaning out my kitchen (ahead of a lot of DIY kitchen-ing when DH gets home). We are slowly renovating our house.

So nothing too exciting but glad to feel better!

Anyone doing anything fabulous?

Shopping, facial, retreat to bedroom which is coolest part of the flat for the afternoon. I'm counting down the days to cooler weather and have been allweek.

daisym00n · 09/09/2023 08:38

We’re going out for breakfast and then I'm doing a big clean out of the Campervan as we’ve used it quite a bit over the summer.

IrritableVowel · 09/09/2023 09:24

We are in the middle of a DIY kitchen build and at the stage where there is so much done, but loads left to do, and I can't see the end 💀

Hoping to get a lot of the to-do list ticked off

Tomorrow meeting my sister and her family, which I am really looking forward to

Rugby World Cup! DH is out tonight and I’m plannnig a girl night in!

HundredMilesAnHour · 09/09/2023 10:30

Currently drinking a flat white while lazing on my sofa listening to classical music (and thinking how today is going to be a scorcher as it's already 26 degrees where I am in London). I have a very hardcore gym session booked at noon and after that I'm going to collapse in the park and enjoy the sun and (very friendly) squirrels.

I have zero plans for the weekend. Which is utter bliss!

ShellySarah · 09/09/2023 10:31

Just come back from a mid week mini break stay cation. We waited until the schools had started so places would be cheaper etc.

This weekend gym, shopping, laundry from the mini break, chilling out.

countdowntonap · 09/09/2023 11:16

We’ve cancelled all plans other than early morning gym and late night beer gardens to mooch in the garden doing sweet FA all weekend. Have delicious fish and salad style meals to for each dinner and lunch, and some fancy drinks chilling in the fridge.

countdowntonap · 09/09/2023 11:17

@IrritableVowel good luck with making progress on you kitchen.

SoRainbowRhythms · 09/09/2023 12:21

I'm nursing a it of a hangover today after drinks with a pal last night that got a little out of hand 🤣

Off to b&q and a few other boring shops. Off to Spain on Friday so need to sort some bits out.

All punctuated with rugby!

Purplecatshopaholic · 09/09/2023 12:27

Cancelled all my plans in favour of sitting in my garden, relaxing with my dogs, listening to the breeze. Bloody awesome.

Lottapianos · 23/09/2023 08:35

Morning all and Happy Saturday!

I'm still in bed. Going to do a bit of light browsing/ shopping later and then meeting a friend for lunch. Got the house to myself tonight so it will be Strictly and early to bed. Hairdresser tomorrow morning and then reading in the garden for the afternoon. Cook a nice dinner for when DP comes back home 😊

What are your plans?

SoRainbowRhythms · 23/09/2023 08:47

Morning!

I've got covid 😒 had a night out with DH planned but I feel like death warmed up so that's out.

Going to France for the rugby on Friday (it's also our wedding anniversary but rugby comes first 🤣) so will probably use my covid weekend to sort the house for the house sitter and start packing.

Flank · 23/09/2023 08:52

My weekend will consist of a countryside walk, a visit to the beach, a Harry potter marathon and a big family roast dinner. And hopefully some naps if I can fit them in!

I hope you feel better soon! And definitely in time for a fantastic trip to France!

My honeymoon was sandwiched in between vital football matches - and no, I'm not talking a footballer paid 000s a week, either. This was a bank league. However, DH did say that 'next year I'll take you anywhere you want for our holiday' and was a bit gobsmacked when I came back with 'California and Las Vegas, txvymuch.'

Today, I am mooching around Ikea to get bookshelf ideas and then hardward shops to look at door handles. I can hardly bear the excitement.

I'm the rugby fan 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 the game is the same day as our anniversary so we're having a nice dinner the night before. DH has definitely got more into rugby since we met though and even bought himself a Scotland top (he is very English!).

We went to IKEA last night and it's was great. I love that place.

We're away at present, staying in a little cottage in the old town in Poole. Today is the last day here and I can't decide what to do. 🙄 I went red squirrel spotting yesterday on Brownsea Island and had the best time, despite lots of rain. Contemplating a drive to Weymouth or Swanage, or maybe just head to Sandbanks. Waiting for the sun to decide if it's staying out first!

Driving back to central London tomorrow. Will stop at a lovely farm shop in Hampshire on the way to buy goodies for dinner. Suspect we'll be spending a lot of time sitting in a traffic queue for the northbound Blackwall Tunnel tomorrow afternoon.😫

'What are you going to cook?'

Nigella's roasted veg and bulgar wheat with some halloumi 😊

Not a problem 👍🍽️😊

Just put on the Ireland / South Africa match. I am not a rugby fan, but I get swept up in the excitement.

We are still doing DIY, but happy to say we have a sink, cooker and worktop again. It felt like we were camping for about 3 weeks.

Weather looks awful for tomorrow, I might head to local shopping centre for a mooch around.

Off the booze to have a bit of a break, missing my wine tonight. Cup of tea will have to do me.

So in summary, really dull, but happy to be cosy with DH and dogs.
