Hi everyone,
I have just had an enquiery for 3 days a week, one of which is a bank holiday.
The parent wont need me to have the child on the bank holiday. I said I would require half the days fee.
Worried I may not get the job as she said I was the most expensive, but I new she liked me. She said the previous minder was really not good! and seemed really happy with me and my setting. She is looking at two more minders.
Shall I change it to NO FEE
Help. work is very sparce at the mo.
What do people charge for bank holidays?

I do not charge for Bank Hols unless I work them. So far I have not worked B/h. I would however charge an extra £1.oo extra per hour

MUM2BLESS if you're asked to work a BH I hope you ask for a higher premium than that!

I don't charge because I don't work them. If a parent really needed me on a BH then I would charge time and a half or double.

Hi, me again,
Well, just to let you know, I did get the job, so really pleased as things have been so quiet where I live.
I asked for half fee for Bank Holiday and would negotiate a fee if she changed her mind. I couldn't charge double as that would be £80 the day. Too much.
Also got my holidays paid at half rate and families at half rate. So pleased, very pleased.
