CM Forum?

I am relatively new to Mumsnet and find it insightful, I am learning so much and whenever I have had a question the answers have been honest and the posters knowledgable.

Can someone please explain to me what is the CM Forum, CM Staff room etc. I have just seen a post on a different thread referring to the CM Forum and that certain links are only for regular users with a high usage level?

Feedback would be appreciated. )

oh I don't know about a link for regular users; perhaps folks link to another website? On MN there is no minimum post count before you're in (or if there is than I don't know about it)

Anyhoo, this whole section is for providers (nannies, Cms and au pairs) and users (parents and employers)to use to ask questions and get information, advice, that kind of thing

We say CM Club in a very informal way

Oh, and welcome

EmMum06 · 07/07/2010 16:33

Thanks for the welcome.

At the moment i am a working mum with a dd in a private nursery 2 days a week and a childminder 2 days a week. I am registering as a cm (put forms in at the beginning of May) and i am finding MN great.

Like your choice of name btw.

You may be registered by November fingers crossed

In the meantime read through old threads on here, loads of information

I can also recommend the Bromley CMA website for heaps of info

HELLLOOOOOOO!

and welcome to the crazy world of CMing

pippin26 · 07/07/2010 18:39

The CM Forum you are referring to is the childminding forum which is a different site. its a site for childminders run by a childminder. on that site there are certain things you can access (like document sharing and discount codes) once you have reached a certain level of (free) membership. The criteria for accessing some of this information is so that exclusive and often copyrighted information is not just accessed by those passing through. I think I am explaining it badly...

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/07/2010 18:47

ah Pippin, thanks for explaining that

can anyone join? by anyone I mean any CM?

linkie?

EvaLongoria · 07/07/2010 18:51

This is the link

Childminding Forum They are a really helpful bunch of childminders

pippin26 · 07/07/2010 18:56

yep anyone can join (and its totally free)- there are parents on there too occasionally but its primarily childminders - male and female, from all over the country and many minders from abroad. lots of advice, fun, support, general chit chat, place to moan, place to share all sorts going on over there!!! (think I have finally figured out how to do smilies on here)!!!
there are ex-minders on there too - people who have moved onto different jobs - like in a childrens center, several home educator childminder mums

pippin26 · 07/07/2010 18:57

oh and we meet up occasionally

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/07/2010 18:58

EmMum06 · 08/07/2010 16:16

I was so glad to have found the CM forum, they helped me a lot and I would never have even gone ahead without their support.
