I have been minding a smashing little boy for 2 years in that time mum has,

presented me with 7 bounced cheques,

no suncream or hat,

forgets nappies,

wants me to potty train but puts him in nappies on the days she has him,(his brother told me),

never ever pays full amount on Friday, every excuse in the book but always manages to have hair and nail extensions,

kicked out 3 partners in the time I have known her and sent unknown men to pick child up.. always refuse to hand him over and tell her unaccepatable behaviour,

texts me to ask if I can pick him up and drop home (f its a school holiday as she cant be arsed to get out of bed to bring him)

I feel so sad saying goodbye to him but enough is enough.

You did the right thing.

Poor child .

TheLifeOfRiley · 25/06/2010 13:55

yes give notice for your own sanity it must be stressful not getting paid properly and getting rubber cheques etc.

shame for the little boy though but not a great deal you can do for him

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/06/2010 14:05

Are you concerned enough about her parenting to talk to social services?

thebody · 25/06/2010 14:09

thanks ladies for the support, feel so awful for the little chap but I honestly feel so angry with her that its not healthy.

thanks again

That is really sad, but I think you are wise to let him go while he IS still a lovely little boy. He will need a lot of strength of character not to be influenced by the example he is being shown.

StealthPolarBear · 25/06/2010 14:16

It is bad not to send suncream/hat/nappies etc
I know we all forget - me included - which is why nurseries have spares but just to nott do it
