Where do your little ones sleep, CMs?

Hi, am I right in thinking that most childminders put babies to sleep in cots/travel cots? Looking after a baby in a few months. Need to purchase travel cot?

What about the unders threes do they sleep in beds or in buggies?

Some feedback please, and thank you!

Get yourself a travel cot and a couple of sheets/blankets. Ofsted insist on clean bedding for each child. You could ask the mum if she already has a travel cot and she might be happy for you to use that and it will save on the cost of buying one yourself.
I know some childminders who put under 3 to sleep in their buggies but check what the mum would prefer.
Hope this helps

ofsted was happy for the under threes to sleep on a couch each with a bedguard

travel cot for the tinies, fresh bedding daily

buy one, you can put against your income and bring your tax down

I have one who sleeps in a fully reclining buggy (at the Mum's request). The other two sleep in travel cots. There are plenty of lightweight travel cots around - I got both of mine at a Mother & Baby nearly new sale. Most people buying travel cots will actually only use them on a few occasions - it is probably only childminders who sleep children in them daily - so the two I managed to pick up looked virtually brand new!

Travel cots until they are old enough for a bed. (Unless we are out and they sleep in a buggy)

Same travel cots for little ones, with own bedding. Also have a mindee that puts themselvs to sleep in their buggy if they are tired, as they do at home. Also have sleep mats for older ones, and a spare bed if needed in the sleep room.

Check with your early years team before you buy anything, I found out not long ago that ours gets funding to lend out safety equipment, cots, high chairs etc, shame I'd already bought it.
