EVERYTIME ive had enquiries/calls/visits over last few months theyve gone belly up, even as late as the date they were due to start ...familiy coming today, one toddler, not particulaly local, theyve asked if i can do pick up (6.30am start)..i WOULD be able to use the car at this time, but i also have another mindee who arrives at 6.30, so would have to pick new child up earlier..drop off may be a prob as id have other children here all leaving at diff times..argh..first enquiry/visit in weeks..what do i do 8-(.x

Yes of course she needs to charge from 6.15 for her time. This would be childminding from 6.15 at the normal rate as if the child had arrived at her home at that time. The issue would be if the parents are paying an extra sum on top of that to recompense her for travelling to collect their child. If that is what the extra hour is for she would be invalidating her insurance.

Hope that makes sense. I'm not trying to be argumentative here. I just know that I had to stop asking parents to contribute to my fuel costs when taking their children to music classes etc.
