Hi all, I've got a local girl coming to look after my 2 children for a few days during the summer holiday. When I asked her what she charged she said she would be happy with whatever... never used anyone so young on a casual basis before and have no idea what to pay her. Anyone in London, any suggestions?
Thank you!

how old are your children?

About minimum wage, I would say.

They are 4 and a half and eight, my nanny was supposed to stay till the end of the summer and they started school but she's decided to go travelling so I need some help so I can get in to the office for a few hours a week. They don't really need a proper nanny anymore, just someone to play with them and cook them some food.

I run babysitting courses as part of ym day job for 13-17/18yr olds and we suggest from £2.50 an hr for the younger ones upto £4.50ish for the older ones this is after completion of our course and also depends on what other experience they have.

Depending on her hours but if an 8hr day would be looking at £25-£40 a day - not sure how many hrs she is doing for you but agree a daily or weekly rate.

when I was 17 (I am 30 now) I worked as an childrens carer for a holiday club in a sports centre and we were paid £3.50 an hr.

£5 an hour I would think.

£5 sounds good to me thats what I got paid when I was 17 and nannying
