Mother's Help questions

Looking for some help when the new baby arrives, 3 DCs.

So my questions are what's the going rate p/hr for SE?

For those of you that have one did you go via an agency or through word of mouth?

Do they do any child care?

Do they do the school run and how many hours do they work?

Thanks!

They do indeed do childcare.

Going rate depends on whether you have someone full or part-time, a bit every day or 2/3 full days and the mother's help's experience. Anything from £6-10 gross!

Agencies can be a good way to recruit but will often have young, newly qualified (or unqualified) inexperienced aspiring nannies. Plus points are they're motivated and can be a very good deal, minus points are they won't have much in the way of experience, are usually quite young and need a lot of hand holding.

Gumtree, Nannyjob and Netmums (plus here) are all good places to look for someone. You might find an older granny type person in the newsagent window or local paper or by word of mouth.

What do you want to have them do? What are you looking to pay? How long do you want help for?
