Hi just interested to know if you do this. I know some have to for financial reasons.

I do not have any little ones usually on a Friday. I just drop off and pick up from school only

This week I have worked Mon to Fri and noticed the difference.

When do most childminders do their paper work? Evening, weekend?

Sometimes I have to try to catch up during my time off.

Would love to hear your from you.

Well sort of - we always go to soft play on a Thurs because I want to go for my DD as we've always been regulars there and we often meet up with a friend of mine or my next door neighbour as they both have LOs the same sort of age as DD. I book any weekends I want off in advance and although I say I will work BHs I rarely do as no one wants them. My social life was dire before I became a CM so working a lot hasn't really changed it much I have a 10 day hol booked and I have a random day this month too as I want to watch the football!

Good for you. glad you still manage some "me time".

I have never had to work a bank holiday. Would consider it if needed but would change a higher rate.

Its important to have time with family. Was due to have no kids this Friday but was ask to mind for a couple of hours. My daughter is having a friend around, regardless of me now working on Friday.

It important that our kids feel that they have some of my time also. Could have cancelled friend coming but wisdom lets me know I should still let that happen.

God yes, definitely still have the friend around.

I have four friends that I invite around when the weather is good as I have a large back garden and my friends all have children the same sort of age as my DD (20m) and as one of my mindees is also the same age as DD I see no problem with having a bit of a gathering, it's good for the babies to get some social interaction going. My other mindee has just turned 8m so she just goes with the flow. Thankfully though all of my friends have a current CRB check so I don't have to worry too much about Ofsted and I always let my mindees' parents know if I'm having people around. This is definitely 'me time' because as you know, it can get a bit lonely being a CM sometimes as you can go a whole day without speaking to another adult some days
