What's a nice present for our c/m now DD is leaving?

DD has been with our c/m for 9 months and she's been really great.

DD's coming out of her formal hours as I'm going on maternity leave for a year, although we have arranged a casual contract so that she can do as and when hours (am anticipating a few hours here or there maybe for Dr's appts, or maybe longer days but all pretty casual).

What's an appropriate/nice present to give on her last official day? Was going to get some flowers but want to get something else. Maybe a voucher? How much is an appropriate amount to spend (c/m costs £250 a month if that helps!)

THanks.

One of the nicest things I have had is a photo of the mindees with some lovely words on the back written by the mindees, if i have a bad day or wonder why on earth I don't get a job, I have a look and it makes me

Also had vouchers, candles, chockies (thats why I'm podgy) cards, flowers, jewellery, homemade bickies / cakes, perfume, make up, bath smelly stuff etc still waiting for the prada bag though LOL DD got one for a pressy of one of our parents, I was very

I'm sure your CM would like a nice letter to keep or a mommento of your DD.

That's a nice idea, thanks atwork.

Will give her a voucher too I think. What's a reasonable amount do you reckon? Do you think £50 would be too much/too little?

We don't have a great deal of money atm.

I think thats very generous, I have had similar amounts and was a bit TBH, i think £20 is enough for a worn out CM to get a treat.

Do you think atwork?

I remember starting a similar thread at christmas and being told I shoudl be buying expensive perfume or giving £100 bonus so I'm really not sure what is an appropriate amount or not!

I've just had someone finish today and she bought me a bodum travel mug and its brill. Bit posher than a normal travel mug and holds 2 full cups of coffee hot.
I also had a huge bunch of flowers and she bought my own children a large tin of chocolates. All really appreciated.

and needs dusting

atworknotworking · 25/05/2010 18:13

Yep deffo no ornaments, unless your CM is retiring.

Excellent, thanks. I did think to buy some sweets for her children, don't know if she'd appreciate that or not though!

Following advice I got on here last year I bought my fab CM a toy for her to use in her 'setting' (it was some wooden trains as I knew she disn't have any) and some chocs and wine for her. I then used Truprint or somesuch to do a photocard of my dd's as the thank you card.
