Do you think Ofsted will increase my number of children that I'm allowed to care for ??

At the moment, I'm only allowed to care for 2 under 8. My dds and 6 and 3 and they are going to go to school full time in september (dd2 is going to preschool as I know its not really full time education). Do you think I should ask ? Has anyone did it before ? Thank you for your help !

think it's unlikely as they usually only do it to allow for continuity or care or a short overlap. It does also depend on if you have consistent good inspection reports and can show how you would cope when your DD is around.

Give Ofsted a call and make sure you have all the answers as far as how you would cope, how many hours you would overlap, etc. It's worth a try.

Also depends why they only registered you for 2 under 8 in the first place, rather than 4 + your 2 = 6 under 8. Was it your request, floor space? Or ... do you mean 2 under 5?

When I have registered dd1 was 3 and dd2 almost 1, then last year when an inspector came to inspect my new place, she offered me to increase my number but me as a stupid idiot, I said no thanks !

I want to ask because I have mindee who comes 3 mornings a week but who is contracted for 4 days in case of the mum as some work..I loved the mum and the little girl settled in a flash...Now I have 2 mindees who gave their nortice the last 2 days..the mums are in maternity leave so they want to keep their children with them...

So end of june, I'll have no one on monday, 2 on tuesday (one only for the morning), 2 on wednesday (one only for the morning), 1 on thursday only morning...

All the inquiries I have are for the mondays to wednesdays..nothing for thursday and friday..

I would ring them, tell them what youve told us, especially the bit where you said at the time you didnt want anymore children!
enlarge upon it and tell them why youve changed your mind.

Yes I would definatly ask. I just had my premisis check for my new house and got my numbers changed from 2 under 8s to now 4 under 8s, plus my 2 who are 1 and 2! BUT she did say she is only doing it because we have a lot of floor space, including a large playroom upstairs on top of the usual living space downstairs and a big garden. (My house isn't that big, I just moved in with CM in mind, so my DC are sharing a small room, and me and DH have a small room, leaving the master bedroom free for a big playroom)!

Oh and regarding saying no to the extra numbers, if they ever off more numbers than you need, I would take them, even if you have no intention on filling the vacancy. It gives you more flexability with who you take on and what times.

Thank you very much for your advices, I have filled up a variation request and now I'm going to wait what they say.
