Aaargh! Nanny needed for June & July

Our wonderful NZ nanny is having visa traumas and needs to go back to NZ for a couple of months in order to be allowed to change visa type. We're absolutely gutted and have said we definitely want her back so will willingly keep the job open for her.

However, this means that we will need a nanny for Mondays-Wednesdays for June and the first three weeks of July.

We're teachers so don't have a great deal of flexibility when it comes to interim childcare so am hoping there are nannies out there who fancy working for us for a few weeks.

We live in Lewisham, SE London and are part of a nannyshare so there are 4 children in total (although if need be I can sort something else out for the 5-year-old). Children are aged 12 months, 18 months and 3.5 years and the nanny would have sole care based in either/both homes.

Any ideas (other than an agency which we can't afford) would be much appreciated... am off to post on other sites now.

Live in or out?

I'm trying to think of people who are free around then for you.

Hello maybe a student who is finishing off a-level exams end of may and has june and july free perhaps someone who plans to go to uni and do something childcare related?

or even a current uni student as many finish in may

Ideally live although the other family do have a spare room which a nanny could use temporarily.

We're currently canvassing babysitters (one of whom is on a gap year so we may yet be lucky!) but would obviously love it if the wind would deliver Mary Poppins to our door.

I think a student would be perfect for you or maybe even two post a level students who could work together (thereby coping easily with 4 children) and still probably not cost more than what you are paying for a nanny share. Good Luck!

Hi-
I?m not sure whether you?ve had any interest yet but I currently work as a nanny for a four and 17th month year old but it?s coming to an end this month (I work as a tutor the rest of the time but work dries up in the summer) so it would really suit me. I can provide great references. If you?re interested then let me know and I?ll send you my details.

(Also if I?m not allowed to post this on here- apologies!)

Thanks!

Icapturedthecastle - I'd definitely be interested in hearing from you...

Hi there,

I don't know if you're still looking, or if you've managed to sort something, but thought I'd post, just in case...

I will repeat icapturedthecastle's apologies in case posting this isn't allowed...?

I'm just coming to the end of a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies, and am due to start a PGCE (primary yrs) in September. During my degree, I took two years out, working as a nanny to two families (g4, g9 months 3 days p/w; b3, b 22months 2 days p/w). I have also worked in copious schools/nurseries etc throughout my degree, plus more school experience and nannying before it - 7 years experience in all (I can send details, but don't really want to say too much on the open forum!).

Anyway, I was looking for nanny work over the summer, so your needs might be perfectly compatable with mine !

Feel free to email me [email protected] (sorry for the ridiculous e-mail address!) if you're at all interested?
