DH thinks I should have a Mothers Help for the summer,as he helps a lot with feeding times, bath & bed but will be busy with work throughout the summer. His mother had help every summer, so.. Where do i start?? Where are the best places to advertise??What kind of pay should they receive?? What should I expect from a MH?? (DS18mths, DD3mths)
Thanks!

Where are you based?

I advertised for mine on Gumtree and have a lovely girl who comes twice a week

price dependent on experience/location and what you're expecting them to do

we had a variety of responses to be honest but a couple of decent ones and we're in an area where gumtree isn't widely used

Gumtree and your local netmums childcare board are probably a good place to start. If it's just the summer you need I'd approach the local college or uni and see if they have a job board/job shop for students.

You can expect a MH to help with the children - play with one while you deal with the other, entertain them both while you get on with other things, help with meal or bathtimes - but shouldn't really be left in sole charge for extended periods. Also help round the house with cooking, light housework, putting a wash on, maybe a bit of ironing. It's pretty much up to you and the MH.

Pay, probably somewhere between £6 and £8 an hour depending on experience.
