Hi,
I am looking at taking on a family, one for a full day and the other two after school only.
I have not had after schoolies before so I am not sure what to charge for 1.5 hours a day. But on the school holidays it will be from 9-5. So I suppose my question is, do I charge by the hour for the 1.5 hrs or a set rate per day!
Also, if it is going to be term time only would this affect the rate?? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I am in SW london if this makes any difference.

I would charge after schoolies at a higher rate than my day rate. School holidays I would put them back on the day rate.

For example:
Day rate £4-£6 per hour
After school £6-£8 per hour.

I charge the same rate no matter what, £3.50 per hour when I just have the little one and £5.50 for both after school and for all hours during the holidays. I only charge and extra £2.00 per hour for additional siblings, so for 3 kids it would be £7.50 per hour.

I have a minimum of 2hrs per day that I offer a contract for.

always charge per hour and round it up. If you carge a daily rate some parents will always be late and you wont be paid for it..

cynical through experience.
