Looking for an AP Couple Job

You'll probably remember me from last time I posted this but I thought I'd try again!

Me and OH are looking for AP Couple work at the moment, we're both 21 (well, near enough in my case!), I can drive and have experience working as a mother's help, he has experience with kids in an adventure camp setting as do I.

I'm not a hugely accomplished cook but can rustle up a few decent dishes! Whilst he's relatively good with basic DIY. We both like gardening and learning new things, being outdoors, climbing and paddlesports so those near by would be awesome

So please feel free to email me as I'd like to find a job ASAP!

Oooh hello pixie! How've you been getting on? Did you ever sort your NVQ

PorphyrophillicPixie · 22/04/2010 18:29

Hello Hm, just got sent home from a training course for an outdoors company within hours of arriving yesterday so not great but had a whinge over on Chat to get it out of my system and try keep my mind ready for Mother's Helping again (just with OH this time!)!

I didn't actually sort the NVQ, I'd love to finish it though and would look to finish it if I can get a MH/AP job Starting an OU degree in September in childhood and youth studies though

Just looking to get out of Essex now as there's no hope for work for me or OH here and he's finally agreed to actually try, with no last minute backing out, AP Couple jobs as long as he has some gardening or handyman jobs to escape too So I'm hoping to find something to suit us now!

I really hope you get your NVQ sorted. Is there any way you could take an AP job in the right area without your OH just to finish it?

They're phasing it out and it would be a shame to let it drop as you go so close. Good luck for the OU degree. I think they're brilliant

Am going to nose over to chat now and see what the whinge was!

PorphyrophillicPixie · 23/04/2010 11:29

I forgot about the hasing out. Now you've reminded me I really don't see the point in finishing it, I may as well just go with the new scheme as everybody is going o have to eventually anyway most likely!

I love OU degrees too, I cannot wait to get started, there's so many courses I want to do and I hate the fact that [for now] I have to restrict myself to the childcare/youth work ones! I want to do some antropology-type units later on, just for fun.

It was titled something like "Why can't anything go right?" or similar. It's helping to write down my feelings, I'm bouncing between crying/frustration and glee at the moment, it's a strange combination!

Hopefully one of these AP couple jobs gets back to me though, otherwise I've got to start a actual career

Found it!

You can finish it, I know you can. Personally I'd put the effort (short term pain) into finishing this than a) start from scratch and b) be the first to take any kind of qualification. Invariably the tutors are going to be disorganised, no-one quite going to know what they're teaching, you'll need to take and exam and there won't be any past papers.

Your NVQ will always count as a level 3. So where do you need to be? I am going on a job hunt for you!!!!

PorphyrophillicPixie · 23/04/2010 11:40

Haha, true. I'd like to have finished it down here (as I've been here so friking long!) but no colleges do the same course here

I might email my tutor from the course and find out their boundaries to see what area I could look for work in.
