Night nanny for older child, is there such a thing?

and if so how much would one be for say 1 night per week for an older child who does not sleep due to disabilities?

This is only hypothetical at the moment but might become a reality if we can make everything add up!

Thanks fofr your help.

Suggest you call the agency NightNannies. I've used them for both my dc's as newborns. I'm not aware that they do older children, but I bet they would know who does, if anyone! Good luck. Sounds like you could really use a good night's sleep.

try SNAP chilcare - they specialise in placing nannies etc. for kids with disabilities.

I am assuming the nanny would need to be awake all night and you would want someone who was experienced in caring for a child with disbilities.

depending on where you are, requirements of the job, nannies experience and quals you would be looking at anywhere from £10-£15 an hr gross.

www.snapchildcare.co.uk may be a good place to have a look as they have some night time jobs and may give you an idea of the roles a nanny would undertake.

I too would say try SNAP

Where are you?

I know a fantastic special needs nanny

I have done an older child who was 6 who had breathing difficuties and parents wanted a break once a month or so.

I know a fab sn nanny in Surrey

Cost £12/15 ph and most nn do a 10hr night 9-7 8/6 etc so looking at about £120/150 a night

drinkyourmilk · 21/04/2010 21:09

I'm a sn nanny, currently in surrey. My rate would depend on whether you wanted me awake or if i could doze, which night (and if you were flexible each week) and experience offered. I think you'll find some nannies hve firmly fixed rates and others not, so you may be able to negotiate.

Fancy you appearing milk. Were your ears burning

I am in Suffolk. I am also easy if the person wants to doze as long as they wake when required.

Think realistically i am looking at around £12 ph, and it would probably be between hours of 9pm adn 7am so around £120 per night, might not even be weekly i really dont know as yet.

Thanks for replies.

Hi. I live in Suffolk, am a NNEB nursery nurse with over 25 years experience. I am not actually employed at the moment as I am a SAHM. I am registered with Sitters babysitting agency. If I can help you in anyway please let me know. I can provide references etc.

morethanyoubargainfor · 22/04/2010 18:26
