Temporary Nanny

Hi,

We are looking for a temporary nanny for day care for 2 weeks in June. How does tax and national insurance work in those cases? Is it the same as a long term nanny, i.e. do I still need to register as an employer etc?

Mark

This is the sort of thing I do, I am registered as a childminder and a nanny, have both insurances and stay as self employed so no need to register as an employer. You can either find someone on here or go through an agency. I am already booked for 7 days in June. Where abouts are you, someone may be able to help.

Hi ClimbingMarkus, I think I emailed you through your ad on nannyjob but in case thats not you, I would be interested! We can discuss the tax/NI thing. My email is [email protected]

A temp nanny would probably be self-employed so you would not be responsible for their tax and NI.

I do temping and am self-employed so I usually get paid by cheque or straight into my bank account.
