In everyday language I don't see there being much of a difference between good and satisfactory. Good to me means okish a bit average which is what Ofsted satisfactory is?
Loving the O.W.L.s Exceeds Expectations sounds way better than goos .
Atwork it's because as a new childminder, "you haven't had time to cement your knowledge. I see the knowledge is there but it's not cemented as of yet. Keep as you are and next time it will definitely be an outstanding."
I had 2 recommendations and they were
1)Get more toys for the garden (I have a long 'to do' list; we bought the house about 8 months ago and spent all our money initially doing the inside as it was winter and made no sense to do the garden. And now come spring we are doing the garden which will be done in a few weeks. I had a list of things on order and a plan of what the garden will be like, with sunk trampoline, veggie beds, sensory garden etc)
- in my complaints policy must have Ofsteds address and also must have time frames in which I will resolve the complaint. Never told that on ICP or when pre reg inspector looked at policies & procedures. Apparently it's in the statutory framework?
It was odd though all the things I worried about she seemed not to check. Like toy box labels, towel situation for hand washing, linen for bedding, daily register, access to drinks for the children etc. She was very nice though. I will not be remotely scared next time!
In a way it's a shame they don;'t do new CMers at 6 months, then 1 year, then 3 yearly intervals.
