Hayley ... these things don't have to be expensive so you wouldn't need to streach yourself financially. I'd go to a carboot sale, NCT sale, charity shops or look at freecycle as well since some people simply just want to get rid of old toys. You do not need new toys and the used ones can be cheap or free but still in great condition.
You can ofset any toys you buy for the setting against your tax.
Alternatively I'd get a credit card with 0% for purchases for a long pieriod of time. But it would be a bit pointless knowing that for about £20 you could equip yourself really well at a carboot sale.

God yes, I have got some of my best toys at car boot sales, tend to buy most of mine there, leaving extra cash for more 'resources' sort of things (craft stuff, playdough cutters, all the things you really have to buy new)

Think outside the box for resources too, lots of stuff intrigue children like lengths of material, kitchen bits and bobs, tubes, old tyres, bowls that you fill with water/rice/sand/gloop/bubbles, get dressing up clothes from charity shops - hats, bags, just clothes and let the childrens imagination run riot. Heuristic type stuff.

Ebay and amazon are good place to pick up toys

Minders often sell stuff on www.childmindingforum.co.uk

thank you so mcuh i do have all those kinds of things but need cars and ethnic toys and just dont see any in cheap shops round here, i have only been earning 17 pounds a week for the past month and have spent most of my savings just keeping up with bills, im taking on another child in the holidays so providing they stay with me ill be bale to have alittle online shopping spree

i just wondered if any childinders are entitled to financial help as i have a bit of a struggle with money

thanks everyone :D
