Was wondering how long from the 1st briefing is it roughly to become registered as a CM?

It can vary quite a bit. From sending in the Ofsted form, it can be 3 months. You may not get that form for some time... so could be 4 to 5 months.
There are then things that can delay it, such as background checks on you and anyone in your household aged 16+.
If you think 4 to 6 months then that may be realistic. Though keep in mind that it may take longer.

Hi Sandy, I think it dpends on where abouts you are in the country, I live in Hertfordshire and potential childminders are told it can take up to a year (slightly quicker at the mo)the best way to find out is to call your families information services, they should be able to give you an idea.

I reckon no sooner than 4 months and no longer than 12 months depending where you are in the country as councils operate differently!

Good Luck with it there are loads of helpful people here who will give you some guidance.
