Hello
I had inspection last 24/02/10 and my inspector came at 9.30 left at 1.15am, as long as you have plenty of different yet simply activities and lunch make it simple, make sure they wash hands after every activity, you'll be alrite, I got GOOD and outstanding on some areas but its not all bad, just pretend they are a friend or another child and give them plenty of drinks and bikkies, they are not all bad

nbee84 · 05/03/2010 19:52

1.15am - gosh 15 hours 45 mins, that was a long inspection

1.15pm I think

navyeyelasH · 05/03/2010 20:58

well I never knew we could go out! I'm totally going to the park then, we hate staying in past 10am ish.

Might give her a ring and double check tho?

Panther76 · 05/03/2010 23:50

You're a childminder using that kind of language?!!! Mmm..love to know what you'll get from Ofsted! I happen to think that Ofsted are just there to do their job and if you have nothing to hide, then just ignore that they're there and get on with what you "normally" do, not just for ofsted sake! My last inspection was last month and Ofsted were here for 4 hours...and I got an Outstanding so it was worth every second...

Get a grip and please use pleasant language and at least pretend you are a professional! Good luck with your inspection..sounds like you'll need it! (Meant in the best intentions of course!)

I am really really upset by your comments panther, very mean and cruel

I am pleased that for many they stay a full day. 2 hrs only gives a tiny ( could be staged snapshot). At least a full day shows meals/ naps/ school runs/ outings etc....

I'd be more comfortable sending mine to a full day inspection than a 2hr brief number.

Then again I have worked in a Inspectorate team so know they are not devil in a suit silently writing down the negatives.

Lulumaam · 06/03/2010 09:28

I think it is perfectly acceptable for a CM to let off steam here on an anonymous forum and to rant and shout a bit, and am confident this does not mean she uses this language in front of her mindees, panther.. smug, much?

don't be upset caitlin...

onadayliketoday · 06/03/2010 09:52

Panther76 is not alone. I also object to the F word being used in the thread title. My daughter is sometimes sitting near me when I'm reading mumsnet in the evening. When the F word is in the title there is no point in using the hide thread facility, as I was advised to do when I complained about this to the forum mods. Perhaps consideration should be given to using this sort of language only in the actual post? No, I'm not smug either, just think it's unnecessary.

TrinityIsFuckingTrying · 06/03/2010 10:01

is your daughter going to implode if she sees the f word written somewhere?

and do we all have to sensor thread titles for your daughter... on an adult forum?

Wanderingsheep · 06/03/2010 10:12

Oh dear!

Just because someone swears on an adult forum it doesn't mean they would make a rubbish childminder!

I'm a childminder myself and have been known to use, ahem, the odd swear word when in the company of adults. I would never use bad language near children though!

Get. A. Grip!

Yeah thats like me ....I think things are getting a little precious on here at the mo......surely itd be boring for any child to sit and watch and then have nightmares about the vile language from some posters .

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 06/03/2010 10:56

Tut tut op don't you know that when your a cm you need to speak like mary poppins at all times? Infact why are you on the computer? You should be out jogging round the park while eating an apple to set an example to the children incase they happen to be there with their parents.

That sounds so long! I remember crits at uni being 2 hours and that was bad enough. I just remember always having so much planned so as they were never bored/had nothing to do.

good luck - oh and I mean that genuinely not in the bitchy (OMG I swore) sarcastic way above!

nickschick · 06/03/2010 10:56

well now youve done it TRINITY!!!!!

My 9 year old has just read your name - hes traumatised.....

I see that the consensus is that inspections seem to be longer than they used to be

Thanks all
