CM - how much do you charge for after-school?

I'd be grateful if CMs (or parents who use CMs) could tell me how much they charge (or pay) for after-school pick-up & care. I need this for 2 DC, one for 1-6pm to include lunch & dinner, the other for 2-6pm, dinner but no lunch.

I have a few CMs to speak to, but I am trying to guage what the going rate is before I speak to them.

I am in NI.

TIA

how old are your children as unless it different in ni they do not appear to be school age this affects what parents pay as there is less availability for under 5 places

TheYearOfTheCat · 02/03/2010 22:16

They are 3 & 5.

really does depend on your area. I am in southern England and would cost you about £30 for day between them

I wouldn't class those hours as after school care - I have little ones from 8am until 3pm , then after school children 3.15 or 3.30 to 6, so they are just an extra bit of income for the quiet hours at the end of the day. If they started at 1 or 2 they would be taking up a full day place, so I would have to charge a full day rate (so I doubt they would come )

dc1 £22.50 per day
dc2 £20 per day(minimum charge)
dinners £2 each, lunch £1.50.
collection from their schools - £no charge if I can get there on foot

TBH I probably wouldn't agree to both pickups unless they are very close by. An hour, including travelling time makes for a very rushed lunch and the 2pm pick up would intrude upon another child's nap time.

I would charge £5 per hour each, and £2 for dinner and I would ask for a pack lunch to be supplied.
Personally I wouldn't do those 2 pick ups as it would interfere too much with the other children and sleeping and would mean we were out for most of the afternoon.
I would look into an afternoon nanny as they really are not classed as after school places.
