Best thing to do is look at this website, select childcare (childminders in the advanced search) and put your postcode in

I'm in the SE and charge £4.30ph but it really does depend on where you live and the charges vary.

If all you are wanting is a school drop off, then you may find that a childminder will charge you a fixed fee for the session (could be equal to 2+ hours). I know some childminders who do that.

Given that the drop-off is at a particular school, I would suggest asking at the school with regard to childminders who already take/collect children. Some schools keep a list, others don't... so asking in the school playground may get you the contact details of a couple of childminders.

A drop off once a week (or twice a week) isn't going to be a great earner for the childminder and could take up a valuable under 8's childcare place, so you may find that you get little interest. It will of course depend on the age of the child/children and what spaces the childminder has available.

It totally depends on the area as Loony has suggested. I am in Oxford and charge £4 an hour but I have no idea what other CMs charge here as the DirectGov site has been down for ages so I set my prices as to what I thought was doable for everyone.
