www.chislehurstcaves.co.uk/ - Wouldn't suggest for Under5's... but older children may like going underground. Open Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm.

The 5 year old I care for who hated swimming last time I took him has decided he wants to try coming swimming with me and his toddler brother, just as long as we go to a different pool (I think he wants a pool that is fairly quiet). So will be going swimming at some point.

May go to the Helicopter Museum. May go to the local science/discovery centre. Hope to be able to go for a walk somewhere (Windsor Great Park, Box Hill). Will try to see the Butterflies at RHS Wisley.

Crystal Palace Park - see the dinosaurs

Hall Place gardens, house (with museum)

Danson Park (Bexley RSPB)

Horniman Museum

I second the Horniman Museum - it's fantastic. Woodlands Farm (Shooters Hill) is good fun too as is Mudchute farm (get bus to Greenwich and walk through the foot tunnel). The Maritime museum usually has free half-term activities on offer which we've enjoyed in the past and, current favourite place is the Museum of London in Docklands.

We have an annual membership to the Kentlife museum which is in the opposit direction but somewhere you can easily spend a day.

HI,

I have planned loads of things around Chinese New Year. We have made some dragons this morning and later in the week we are baking some Chinese Moon Cakes.

There are lots of other things that you can do - tiger pictures and collages, tasting chinese foods like noodles, water chestnuts, prawn crackers.

Aside from Chinese New year what about watching a film and drawing the curtains to make it dark like the cinema - do some popcorn too. We will be off for a walk to spot any signs of the winter ending if the weather is ok too.

Hope some of it helps.
