Temp nannies

My nanny is off to see the doctor today, she clearly has a bad chest infection. I'm worried she's going to be told to take a week off. Obviously it's a very selfish worry, and I do want her to get well again for her sake. (Trying to highlight I'm not a complete cow employer)

DH can cover today and I can do tomorrow, but I think we will be stuck next week. I'm going to try and get fmaily to help, but if I can't I'll need to get a temp. I think I now a couple of agencies who can help, any idea how much they usually cost? Are temps usually happy to do toddler grop etc, if you explain where they are? Will they cook meals or do I need to leave things made up? DD is 13 months, although she's really sociable I'm a bit worried about how she'll cope with a complete stranger.

What else should I ask? Look out for?

sorry to hear nanny is ill - have a look on netmums as next week is half term and there may be nannies about looking for extra work

I used to be a temp nanny and we will do anything we can to make the familys life easier while their normal childcare is absent

so yes happy to go to M&T, swimming lessons etc, im happy to cook and leave a list of likes/dislikes/allergies if any

temps, again go on age/area/exp but prob looking at 8-10an hour - some agencies will sort out the tax, some temps are se, and some happy to take cih (but obv this is illegal and i am not telling you to do this )

where are you, im off next week as my guys are on half term and going away with mb/db, i have some plans but free 3 days

feel free to email me [email protected]

many thanks for the offer, nanny is at the docs at 10, so I'll have a better picture after that. She didn't sounds at all well last night and is apparently worse this morning. If it looks like she's going to be off for more than this week, I'll talk to my mum tonight, otherwise start investigating. Good point about half term, I keep forgetting, even though everyone at work keps reminding me they won't be in next week as it's half term.

Would a temp nanny be happy to pop over one evening or at the weekend to be shown the ropes? I'll have to leave for work early on Monday morning so it would be easier.

Well nanny has been to the doc, is off for the rest of the week, which is fine. She thinks she'll be back on Monday, so fingers crossed and we'll find out on Sunday. In the mean time, I'm getting very excited about an extra day with DD
