Hello all

Wasn't sure where to put this but thought you ladies/gents may be able to help.

Dp and I employ a carer through the Social Services Direct Payments Scheme.

He does a few hours a week at weekends to cover the period after my nights so that i can get some sleep and he assists dp with cares and helps dd (also disabled) and ds.

Tbhhis main role is the childcare bits tbh but he makes dp drinks/meals also.

He is a lovely lad and we are all very happy with the arrangement. He hasn't been with us long and as it has been freezing has mainly been in the house except for a few local walks.

My question is,that if he were to take the dcs out in the car presumably he would need some kind of insurance, but is it a specific business type?I think it would be nicwee if he was willing to take the children out ,park etc, especuially when weather nice.I wouldn't expect him to pay for it,I would be happy to.Any ideas?

Its the same situation as with a nanny. Some people have Business Class1, whilst others use specialist brookers to arrange cover, such as MortonMichel.

No. Motor insurance is highly variable, many factors affect premium such as drivers age, accident history, points on licence etc. If he has had his own insurance on his own car for quite a long time, then his NoClaimsBonus will help. Or are you wanting to add him to your policy so he can drive your car?

I paid about £160 to put 2 additional drivers on my very large car
