How would you make a contract for this ...?

A friend of mine would like me to look after her son one weekend or so a month whilst she is at work and her DP goes to watch the football. Sometimes it might be once a month, sometimes twice, it won't be on the same weekend of each month as it were and it will be ad-hoc.

I am an NCMA member and I have all their contracts here but I have no idea what to use as I'm a new CM and haven't had to do anything like this before - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't know whats possible with the NCMA contracts. What I think you want though is a Zero Hour Contract, so no guarantee on either side that childcare will be provided. Then you also specify in the contract that childcare is provided only with advance booking and is subject to availability.

So your friend would get in touch to ask if you could have her son on X date. You then check your diary and decide if it's a Yes or a No.

& I would advise doing the checking/booking by email so there is a record of what was agreed

Just use an ordinary contract (& child record form) & put "As & when required" in the big box with notes about payment & how to book etc

I put in the box under other info. As required / by arrangement. Make a note of how bookings are made and ask parents to sign attendance sheet.

That's brilliant, thank you all for your replies, it's nice when MN is a life-saver!
