Complaints Records - do we have to put in file even if unfounded/no further action?

Hiya

I'm pretty sure that we have to have ALL complaints in our complaints file, even if the complaint was unfounded or resulted in 'no further action'.

I'm looking for confirmation of this on the Ofsted website but struggling. On page 23 of the EYFS Statutory Framework booklet it gives the impression that you DO have to have these on record.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

I didnt put my unfounded complaint in mine and Ofsted were fine with it, after all it was unfounded so it was not true. So whats the point of having to explain to people about it?

Interesting............this is how I feel about it, just the legal requirements on page 23 of EYFS book suggest you have to either way. Bloomin Ofsted!! grrr

But then who is going to know after all Ofsted found it unfounded so technically they should not keep a record of it so neither should you! I know my 'little thing' with them has NEVER been held against me, I have never entered it in any complints file and am sure my inspectors didnt know anything about it as I have been given 'outstanding' twice since it all happened. Personally I would not bother at all, afterall what are they going to do if you dont record it, shoot you?

Hmmmm. I thought we had to keep a record of all complaints, but I have never heard whether we have to keep copies of fiction
