My nanny is registered on the voluntary register so that I can use vouchers. She is being inspected on Thursday - can anyone give me a clue about what they are looking for????

Thanks for any clues!

Paperwork mostly I think, probably also some questions on things like behaviour management, what to do if suspect abuse.

ilovecake wrote this in November:

1, About safeguarding, am i aware of child protection?
2, Do i have the relevant childcare qualification?
3, Are the premises suitable that i work in,suitable equipment, risk assessment, eg in the kitchen is everything safe.. plugs, wires, cooker etc, is anything faulty?
4, How to deal with a complaint, write the complaint in the diary, show employers,date and sign it, and write all sorted!! or if your employers want they can phone OFSTED on 08456 404040.
5, Insurance, registered certificate.
she also mentioned to provide information in a diary, nappy changes,medicine administered, so we don't overdose our charges! (she also stated that we should get our employers to sign a consent form so that we can administer medicine while in charge of our charges!!, outings where to..!
the thing she did keep saying is that we should tell Ofsted of any changes, if we change job, the family move etc,
~~~ end ~~~
Hi,
they will want to check certificates and ask questions like; what activities do you do with children, child protection, safety in the home. Your nanny should have been told about the requirements to be on the voluntary register. I printed them off and highlighted the areas which were relevant to me and then when Ofsted came I was ready for any question they had.
Hi,
had my inspection last week. (I am a nanny).
All was over in probably 15 minutes.
Tell your nanny not to worry. The lady from Ofsted wanted to see my CRB check, insurance certificate, first aid certificate, she checked my childcare qualifications and that was it.
Also, she just checked I do know how to deal with complaint (put it in writing and contact Ofsted within a month, sooner the better) and asked about risk assesment.
Seriously, that was all.
I also was scared as it was my first Ofsted inspection but it was fine
Thank you all. That's all very reassuring!
