What are your views on driving with mindee's in your car?

I normally offer collection and drop off's. I did say originally I would remain open but would not drive, however this is lasting a while now. I wan to know what everyone else does. Are you still doing school run's, toddler groups etc?

Round by me the main roads are clear but side roads are dangerous. Just went food shopping in Dh's car and slid when trying to stop because the car infront of me had stopped to let a car coming the other way go.

I collect one child twice a week and could not take my car out this week. The child did not come to me, so I refunded them. I car share for a school run and have in the past refused to do the school run with mindees in the car, because I 'risk assessed' it as too dangerous. The other children were taken to school by their parents, but my DD stayed home. Doesn't quite answer your question, because the car share people don't pay me. My car has not been out of my garage for a week. It is not equipped to deal with the snow and ice in our driveway, let alone the road.

I wouldn't drive with mindees in the car in bad weather conditions, but then I wouldn't drive full stop.

Once all our local schools and pre-schools start to open again, and my own road is clearer - then I will.

I have asked parents to make arrangements for school pickups as I cannot fulfil them; the pre school children here are safer than coming with me to attempt pickups

Side roads are viscious and I can't get my car out anyway

I have been looking into this alot this week... I collect at 7am 3 times per week and drop home at 6pm. I have found that alot of childminders are saying that if you are being paid for the collection then it is up to you to carry out that collection. If you are doing the collections as favours then it is up to the parent to get the child to and from you.
No one can make you drive if the weather conditions are unsafe however you would be liable to refund the fees if you are contracted to collect.
