www.videojug.com/interview/childminders-explained

Trawling online for childminders I found this video.

Does anyone else think this women says some really rubbish things? Such as -

  • You should always choose a childminder who has a child the same age as your child
  • You should choose a childminder who has worked for mnay years as they are going to better than a new one?

Oh and when asked about childminders this woman says

"see what food SHE feeds the children"

"ask what SHE does during the day with them".

Surely there are mnay male childminders now, that this managing director should be aware of and sensitive to that?

Oh and "school age children often don't want to go to someone elses home after school"...

"If you're not happy then take your child out straight away"

Of course, would be silly to actuially discuss problems and try and sort them out eh?

I'll look at that later but sounds a load of rubbish!!! And as for the after schoolers what a load of tosh! Both of my after schoolers quite often kick off at pickup time when mummy decides to pick up instead as they are disappointed that they're not coming to play with everyone!!! (no reflection on the parents, they just love their little gang and love playing together!)

Oh lordy, that will help parents wont it

And yes there are some lovely male childminders out there!! I know 2 of them! Would love to say they were inspired by moi as they both have Dcs at my Dds school and live v.close so we knew each other pre childminder days but sadly i think it was more likely a desire to do work they really enjoyed and that happened to be with children

hahahaha im not a childminder, but even I find that HILARIOUS!!!!

"because its in her home, a childminder should be really flexible about times and days"

so ur allowed to be a childminder and want ur own time or have a life????

Numberfour · 18/12/2009 12:02

good grief!!! i could only bear to watch a bit of it.

What a crock of shite!!!!

I was looking for a way to get this pulled? There is a lot of misinformation in it; how annoying!
