What are you wanting? Not sure any of us could give you any advice based on that little information.

How old is DD?
Why do you feel the need to look at a Nursery/Childminder for 1 or 2 days a week?
Have you established likely costs in your are of how much Nursery and Childminder would cost?
Your dad I presume doesn't cost you anything moneywise but are you concerned about depending on him so much?
How many days does your dad currently care for DD?

Hi I am a childminder and the trouble with 1/2 days is you only make 1/2 a days money! I think nurseries are more inclined to offer 1/2 days but most nurseries want a minimum of 2 sessions.

Hi well yes you are right i do feel like i am depending on him to much, i have gone back to work 3 days but my husband works till 1pm so i thought it would ease the pressure on my dad.

My DD is just 1.

Not to concerned about money to be honest yes ur right my dad is free but would rather pay for something more consistent also my dad doesnt really do anything with her.

Childminder could be an option IF you can find one who will take her for mornings + lunch. Trouble is that it's not full-time, so some childminders may not consider it, though it may suit some. So worth calling around.

Meanwhile, could you encourage your dad to do more things, go to a toddler group one morning for example - a grandfather comes to the toddler group I go to on Wednesdays and he really seems to enjoy caring for his grandchild, plus he helps out with setting-up/clearing away (he's much better than any of us at fitting everything in the shed!).

I'm a childminder and I do half days so like nick says it is worth ringing around or even asking on here.

Do you mean you're thinking about half days or "one slash two" days?
