Collecting & Taking Au Pair to/from Airport

My au-pair leaves for her xmas holidays next week and is returning in January. I'm planning to drop her at the aiport, but on her return would it be unreasonable of me to ask if she could make her own way to our home? I wouldn't mind collecting her, but she has booked her flight at an awkward time which would mean I would have to find someone to babysit my dcs (not enough room in the car + time when youngest will be very tired). We are lucky as there is a direct train from the airport to our town, and our house is only 10 mins walk from the station. Depending on if DH comes home in time I could potentially pick her up from the train station - but this would very much depend if DH was home which I couldn't guarantee. In this case would I be obliged to pay her train and taxi fares from the airport??

i do not expect the family to pick me up/take to airport anz other time then coming for the first time and then leaving at the very end. nice if they can inbetween, but i consider that my responsibility.

And from the other side we do the same as caterpillar expects. Meet them at the airport first time and drop them off the last time. Other trips we expect them to get to the local town and we will pick them up from there (30 mins away). And they pay their own fares.

Our au pairs have always offered to take the train to and from the airport for quick trips home. If we can drive them then we do but mostly they chose the cheapest flights so we would have to take a whole day off to do it.

Not unreasonable at all to expect her to do that and no, you wouldn't have to pay. There's a direct train, presumably she knows where she's coming and it's not a long walk!
