started cming last January so haven't done Christmas yet.

Will obviously get gifts for mindees but does anyone get, say a bottle of wine, for parents, also would it be appropriate to offer a glass of wine or sherry on Christmas eve pick up( my last day before holiday) as nurseries seem to do.

advice please, oh also christmas crap( sorry crafts) for children to take home to parents!!! lol

When I was a cm I bought for the children but never their parents. Offering a Christmas drink and a mince pie is a nice idea, but maybe think about some non alcohol wine (or mulled wine) for people driving - I konw that as a driver I prefer not to drink any alcohol.

You could make salt dough decorations with the children for them to take home to hang on their tree.

i don't buy presents for parents and will also not be doing so this year. but i always buy for all the children. parents get a card in the post.

Alway buy for the mindees never for the parents.

We are making some simple chocolate sweets the week running up to Christmas, and I bought some wooden xmas trees with a small peg at the top to put a photo in which they can decorate themselves. I also have some calendar tabs and take a photo of them print it out stick it to a bit of card, and let them decorate around the photo then stick the calendar tab on and some ribbon to hold it up.

We did xmas cards today I am knee deep in glitter already

I don't buy for parents although by the time I have bought all the makings for the gifts the children are making, probably would have been cheaper!!

We are making boxes of salt dough decorations, candle holders, sewing xmas cards, photo frames and if I get enough time a calendar.

December is officially glitter month. It will get everywhere in your home, car, coat, dog, cat, garden, fishpond, wherever. Just enjoy looking at your sparkly world. The parents will be so pleased with the glittery creations you are sending home (so that they too can have a glittery car), they will not need a gift.

Don't give the parents a gift - if my CM did I'd be embarrassed! I will be giving her a gift (M&S vouchers) but that's because she deserves it.

She made a card and a calendar with our son and that was lovely!
