hello, i was wondering if anyone has a housekeeper? we have 2 kids at school, new job means that i need before school care and 2 extra days at after school club. spoke to after school club, they are full, cant get the days i need for new job.if i could, it would be £250 for 2 kids breakfast and after school care 4 days a week.
now, was wondering about a house keeper?
someone to come here at 7.45, take kids to school, (1000yards away) come back here and do breakfast pots etc till 10. then pick kids up at 3.15, bring them home, heat up tea and look after till 6.00. so about 20 hours per week, term time only.
was wondering if anyone does this and how much you pay? thanks

I dont know about a housekeeper, they might not be happy with the child care bit.

To be honest I have no experience but...

How about advertising for a "granny" rather than a nanny in a local newsagent.

You might find a sprightly retired lady nearby who would love to do something like that?

sounds like a part time nanny/housekeeper role. Fairly common - you should find someone dependant on pay and area

I've found it hard getting someone who is good at the child bit and the housekeeping bit, so give yourself as long as possible to look. Your job sounds more like a nanny job than a housekeeper to me; I would advertise for nannies but make it clear from the start that there is some house responsibilities too.

The split shifts will be the main difficulty, you'll have to pay a bit more because of them.
