Could you advise me of the going hourly rate for London nannies please (live out, part time)? Both Ofsted registered, and also if I were to pay a student (not cash, obviously, but unregistered). Thanks

Depends on qualifications and experience.

A qualified and experienced nanny would ask/get anywhere from £8 - £10. You may also be liable for paying tax on what you pay her.

It could vary quite a bit. £9-£14 gross per hour would be a reasonable estimation.

If you look at job adverts and nannies seeking work listings on various websites that may help give you some idea of rates in your local area.

Nannyjob.co.uk and Gumtree.com both have nanny job listings.
Childcare.co.uk has some nanny job listings but may be more handy for seeing what nannies seeking work are looking for, as some I've noticed do have a listing there and say things like 9 net an hour, 10 net an hour.
Findababysitter.com also has listings by employers and nannies - if you enter your postcode it will sort based on those near your location.

This mumsnet message thread contains some calculations for gross to net pay.
