Yikes! It will cost half the price of the car to insure our nanny to drive it!!

I am wondering if there is anywhere that gives a reasonable rate for nannies' car insurance - I have rung around and also done a search on GoCompare, and we are looking at a four-figure sum, thanks to her being under 21.

fab news boffy!!

2 miles - Walk or get a taxi if raining would have to be cheaper.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/09/2009 10:35

children might not want to walk 2 miles before and after school (as sure many adults wouldnt either)

standard rate of taxi here is £4.50 (tho prob cheaper in boffland) so would be £5 minimum each way - so £50 a week in taxi's - times that over 38weeks of school year

plus boffy wanted a car so nanny could pop into town and do odd errand (as most of are happy to do)

least you got it sorted and cheaper

thirtypence, DS2 has a disability so he can't do that. Buses round here cost a fortune as do taxis.
