Thought this may be helpful to both parents and new/current cm's alike.

West Yorkshire

I charge £3.50 an hour that includes everything (except EBM), but does include wipes nappies etc, as I was sick of little ones coming with really cheap that explode and leak.

Dysgu · 09/06/2009 10:09

Isle of Wight

I pay £3.75 an hour and provide nappies, formula and a packed lunch every day.

Snacks, drinks, wipes and outings all included.

Scotland - £3.50 per hour but you have to pay a full day, even if your child is only there for 1 or 2 hours as you are taking a "space".

So it's £30 per day.

Includes everything.

Re the shoes.......didn't notice until the mum was on her way to London! lol They used to arrive at 6.45am just out of bed so in old nappies and pjs etc so of course wouldn't be wearing the shoes - they should have been in the bag! Anyway, I have a certain size spare pair should anyone else need them lol.

Banbury

FelineFine, just to let you know i am in Scotland and i don't charge a full day if i am not working a full day.

What a weird thing to do

If a parent needs mornings for instance then i charge for the morning only and try to fill the space with another mindee if i can.

Whereabouts in Scotland are you?

HSMM · 10/06/2009 09:40

I have been considering charging whole days, because I never seem to be able to fill the 'rest' of the day, so it's either that, or just take full timers?????

FelineFine · 12/06/2009 07:41

Midlothian Agalch.

Thing is I could not afford a full day, especially as DS starts school this year, I would be paying £30 for her to watch him from 3.00pm-5.00pm.

She is feeling the pinch now as I gave our notice, then another of her ladies also gave notice and a friend I recommended to her has also just gave her her 4 weeks notice.

She is a great child minder but not at all flexible, which has lead to her not having any children to care for now.

HSMM · 12/06/2009 08:22

Pay full day - but only hours cared for school children in term time (they could not be replaced by anyone other than a school child, so they are not taking up a space)
