one of my mums has asked me to have a mindee and his older brother overnight while they party. I would have to take the older one to school the next day and mind the little one. They are lovely kids so yes.. but what should I charge.. my ususal rates are £3.00 per hour per child.. advice please..

Personally..... I would pay about £30 per kid...... NO idea if thats good or bad.....

I babysat [no qualifications] over night about 6 years ago and received £25...

I'd pay a bloody fortune nto be able to go out and party!!!!!!

some one near me charges 40 to 50 pound per night depending on how many nights

LittlePaws · 19/05/2009 21:21

My overnight rate is £3 an hour

pinkmagic1 · 19/05/2009 21:24

What, childminders that will actually have your child overnight?!

LittlePaws · 19/05/2009 21:42

I have a little boy who has been with me day and night for almost two weeks now.

Your registration must include overnight care specifically. I charge quite a bit more than my normal hourly rate for occasional overnights, all depending on whether I want to do it and whether I need the money!

honestly pinky, we all love the little fellas, thats me dh and my dcs(20,18,9) so its no hassle.
Thanks for all the advice gals and to u HSSM, have that covered for occasional stays.

Thinking of charging about £5O.00.

I nanny overnight and for 7pm-7am for children who sleep through on a fri/sat night I charge £100 then £12 an hr for any odd hrs. 24hr care is £175. This is obv in the childs own home.

eastmidlandsnightnanny · 20/05/2009 08:53

sorry should have said on a week night 7pm-7am I charge £80 and then £10 an hr.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2009 13:15

i sleep over (as a nanny)and do £80 this is bs fee of 5hrs 7-midnight @£10 and then sleepover of £30

if you normally charge £3, maybe charge your usual hourly fee plus a sleep fee - and the mum will be getting a very good deal

My charge is £70 per night. I basically registered for one family who wanted their baby to stay overnight fairly regularly. I had no idea on pay and the mum said she'd looked into it (this was about 2 yrs ago) and rates were around £50-70 for this sort of thing. I said £50 is fine and she INSISTED on £70 per night so that's where that rate came from. I am, however, thinking of lowering it to £50 per night due to the fact a lot of people don't have this sort of money atm with the way things are. I'm only interested in doing this for families I already work with though.
