Who does everyone use?

I am really struggling to get cover at a reasonable price (not helped by break in last year)

Cheapest quote so far £171.39 for 50,000 of cover with no accidental damage.

Help !

I have mine through Halifax.

mumlove · 08/05/2009 11:26

Direct line - also car insurance so get a little extra discount.

atworknotworking · 08/05/2009 11:45

Spent ages looking for mine were moving house and only had 3 days to find it barclays do CM's but have rules on how many you are regstered for, so was to stressed out to figure wether it was worth it, kept applying on line - but just about everyone i tried don't do cm's, and everytime you are refused you have to declare it - total nightmare, went to a local broker in the end it costs a fortune £52 month, and covers me for basically nowt, but you do get the form to show ofsted which is nice, I have noticed a couple in the Who Minds magazine try Homeminder 0800 854124 - I'm going to ring them next week (off next week doing paperwork)

skankywitch · 08/05/2009 11:52

Blimey direct line wants £215.

I'm waiting for Morton Michelle to get back to me.

I'll try homeminder but think you need to be ncma member which I'm not as of 2 months ago !!

Thanks all

I did mine through Swinton insurance for building and contents insurance. They even included public liability insurance. I used to be insured with Norwich Union.

skankywitch · 08/05/2009 12:08

Morton michelle quoted £359 !! but were very helpful.
Looks like I'll be going with call line direct cheapest so far.

Swinton and halifax wouldn't even quote me.

Hi
I am in the process of becoming childminder. I am looking into insurances. Can anybody help . What insurance I will need & what companies are the best . Thank you

PrincessScarlett · 17/01/2019 13:14

Michael Morton and Pacey say they provide CM insurance which they do but it is ridiculously expensive compared to non CM insurance organisations. I spent ages querying with Pacey why their home insurance was over double of my current insurance and they couldn't explain why!

You need to ring around/go online to shop around for quotes which is very time consuming but needs must.

April2020mom · 17/01/2019 20:30

We use directline for insurance. I recommend contacting insurance companies to shop around and ask a few questions. Compare quotes too. Look at the website and read reviews published on the Internet.
Basically speaking the more information you have the better.

Great . Thank You very much.
