hourly rates for night nannies in N London anyone?

I'm looking into trying to hire a night nanny for a regular slot, one night a week, midweek, for DS, about 2 months old, for a block of 2 or 3 months, from mid-June.

What's the going rate for this sort of thing in N London (I'm near Ally Pally), (assuming, of course, that a night nanny somewhere will find this sort of temp contract an attractive proposition) - hoping someone on this topic can advise!

Thanks in advance for your help.

You may hopefully find a night nanny on here willing to do one night a week for you.

I am in east midlands and charge £12 an hr for singles andf usually do a 10hr night so £120 for a night.

I know night nannies the agency say £8 an hr for their night nannies but then you have agency fees on top.

so guess anything between £8 and £12 an hr would be acceptable more top end if you require someone experienced who will just come in and take care of baby so you can sleep.

I happily have done just one ad-hoc night for a family who was just desperate for a nights sleep and couldnt really afford any more than that one night.

I also often only do 1-2 nights a week for families on a short term basis.

i also do nn, and have done a few famillies who like you wanted one night a week who need a bit of sleep - though do have to say going in once a week wont really have much effect on getting in to a routine UNLESS you follow strictly what the nn says and does -or tbh its a waste of money for you

tbh i normally suggest the first week or two if possible to least have 3 nights , either in a line or every other night to help get into a routine

all my babies have been sleeping through 7-7 (with dream feed 11pm) by 8 weeks and 7-7 by 12weeks - but this is when i have had them from a few weeks old

alas i am not near you but my friend wwow(wickedwitchofwestfield) is in london - but not sure if near you - maybe cat her?

as lindsey says, i charge £12ph, though some nn may charge less/more - i do 10hrs either 9-7,or 8-6 - depending on what my work comittments are the next day

hope you find someone

Gosh!

Thanks very much all of you for responding so quickly.

Blondes - perhaps you could tell wwow I will email her later on today?

Me and DH could certainly manage a few nights in a row etc to get things started.

hi

Where in North London are you?

I work as a night nanny too (but am more expensive than the others here) I have over 16 years experience with children and babies as well as being a mummy to 3 children myself. I charge £15 per hour.

good old nanny grapevine!!!

hope you find someone to night nanny for you and agree if you can afford to 2-3 nights a week for a few weeks then cut down would be very beneficial in getting baby into a routine and sleeping through.
