I am doing a page of 'what OFSTED said' to add into my brochure (A5 size)

So what do I pick?

I like these but they are too many (I'm not really numbering them but I have here for ease of reference)

1.They play together, share and are considerate as they follow the positive role model portrayed by (DH)

2.Children are valued and respected as individuals with support being given to those who have additional needs.

3.Younger children are intrigued by the families cat and (DH) seizes the opportunity to develop children?s knowledge & thinking about the creature. The children are encouraged to stroke his back and notice his tail, which swishes across the floor.

4.Children chatter freely knowing (Co-minder) will listen to what they say and value what they do.

5.Children develop close and caring relationships with (Co-minder) who is attentive to their needs and gives warm sensitive support.

6.Children confidently select resources from the varied and interesting range which is easily accessible to them.

7.(Katymac) has a flexible inclusive and sensitive approach to partnerships with parents.....

8.(Katymac) is caring affectionate and responsive the children's individual needs.

9.They are cared for in a stimulating, welcoming environment where they are happy settled and actively learning.

10.Children's welfare and learning are exceptionally well supported in all areas.

11.Children are confident in approaching (Katymac) and are able to convey their individual wants and needs regarding sleep, drinks and choice of activities and toys

Help??

TBH, I would put them all in . You worked hard to get the comments - use them well . A 'what Ofsted said' page, that's a really good idea, might steal that one

KatyMac · 28/04/2009 12:43

Umm I agree but it has to fit on A5 & I think it would be about 5pt font

So what do I dump?

Can you do some themes:

eg In their latest report Ostead praised :

the caring relationships set up (quotes 5,2, maybe 4/8)
the nuturing and learning enviroment (quotes 9,6
our relationships with parents 7

My 'headline' would be 10, which feels like an overall summary

twinklytoes · 28/04/2009 13:12

would this be given to parents once they've made initial enquiry or beforehand?

No 3. wouldn't put this on anything that was going out before families visited - it might put them off before they've even phoned and made the first enquiry. (was pretty pfb and ignored all dog / cat owning families when first looked. wouldn't now though)

No9. think this encompasses the whole service and will encourage first time families looking into childcare to call you. biggest fear is usually "will they settle" - well it was here!

I'd choose 5 max and then provide the link to the full online report. If they've not got net access have a A4 summary available for them take away?

KatyMac · 28/04/2009 13:15

It's to slot into my (folder A4) brochure for giving to tentative enquiries

I understand what you are saying about the cat - I'll have a think

I think 9 & 10 are important too

take out 6, kinda repeated in 11.

But TBH I think I like FP's idea, maybe space it out over 2 A5 pages.

As a parent i'd be interested in what OFSTED have said

How about

KatyMac, put them all in, you've worked so hard for your outstanding - and helped so many of us on here - put an extra page in your advertising to include it all .

KatyMac · 02/05/2009 00:26

No it's a trifold leaflet

If I putthem all in I can't fit my logo on that page

it looks a bit odd with it on the other 5 pages without it being there

Have you got my email? - If so send me one & I'll email it back (I am really bad at adding people to my address book )

Wow that's so many comments to include - why not just include a couple (a lot of them repeat themselves anyway) and I wouldn't include the one about the cats to be honest.
I have two cats and know what you are getting at but a lot of people just don't get it with animals!

A lot of my mindees families have wished they had grown up with animals so they weren't so put off!

Getting back to the booklet - you could even just say "for more information and latest ofsted report please contact ....."

A lot of would-be customers don't even know ofsted reports exist so I wouldn't worry too much!
