I need to update all my stationery with my new OFSTED Logo

I can't fit both logos on the footer or the header

So I can only use the current logo

Therefore I need a way of indicating to potential customers people that I have been judged outstanding twice

How does:

KatyMac's Childminding
For all your childcare needs - Outstanding Again!

Sound?

too in your face

KatyMac's Childminding
For all your childcare needs
Given Outstanding status 2008 & 2009

Show off!

I have a signature strip at the bottom of my emails and it's like this:

Looneytune
Ofsted Registered Childminder (village, town)
Graded 'Good' in 2009 (Inspection Report - link)

So maybe you could have 'Graded Outstanding in 200? AND (in bold ) 2009

Just a thought

KatyMac · 26/04/2009 13:29

What about my outstanding for 05/06?

Actually what about my Good in 03 - that was the highest I could get then

My worry if I put the dates is that people who haven't used childcare before or understand about OFSTED will think

05/06 & 08/09 - what about 06/07 & 07/08?

ok, 1 handed as giving baby a bottle.....how about something like 'Awarded highest status since 2003'????

KatyMac · 26/04/2009 13:39

Tricky isn't it

That line between sounding professional & looking desperate

I wonder if the question is 'is it important to prospective customers that I got outstanding twice'?

Not sure about that

OP posts:
looneytune · 26/04/2009 15:57

Well if I'd got that twice, I'd put it on!!!

BradfordMum · 26/04/2009 16:32

well as a 'good' childminder, twice, together with 6 areas of outstanding, I personally think parents dont choose you because you're 'good' or 'outstanding'. They use you because you have a space, are reasonably priced and they like you.

My best friend got a satisfactory last week, because she didnt inform Ofsted that one of her mindies required hospital treatment after a fall at her house. Mum took him as a precaution only, but I did tell her that she needed to inform Ofsted. He father died later that day and she forgot to.

It hasnt made any difference to what her parents think, and I would still recommend her over the outstanding childminder in our village, who knows WHAT to say to Ofsted, is a WHIZ with paperwork, but yet ignores the children at toddlers while she sits drinking coffee.

In my opinion, the difference between satisfactory, Good and outstanding is just a few letters.

But that isn't the issue is it

As a business woman I need to do everything (legal) within my power to advertise my business to the best of my ability - otherwise if I go bust it's my fault

I think an outstanding (or 2) is a valuable advertising tool

I just need to sort out how to represent it - without sounding too smug

Totally agree with Bradfordmum in the fact that people shouldn't and don't always go by what we got. I got a Good with 6 outstandings areas too but many said they'd still recommend me and wouldn't be put off by a satisfactory just because I'm not so great with the paperwork side!!

HOWEVER......I also TOTALLY agree with Katy. There are still parents who DO very much look at reports etc. and so Katy would be crazy not to use her Outstanding to promote her business!

KatyMac · 26/04/2009 18:16

I spoke to my Auntie who said if they don't know much about childcare/minding they won't know much about OFSTED

Which is an relevant issue

I think this years logo is better than last times

LoveMyGirls · 26/04/2009 19:51

What about... Graded Outstanding since 2006

KatyMac · 26/04/2009 21:50

I think I might not put it on my letterhead

I'm not completely sure

OP posts:
HSMM · 26/04/2009 22:21

I think parents are just interested in what you are now and not many of them care what you were last year, let alone any earlier than that!

looneytune · 26/04/2009 22:52

But doesn't it show consistancy of being Outstanding? I know if I had it, I'd sell myself as much as possible

Lmccrean · 26/04/2009 23:11

Def use both KM, you are selling yourself and your business!

If theres a space at a "good" and at an "outstanding" Id def choose outstanding, and pay more for it.

I like LMGs suggestion
