Would ringing you on a Saturday about an interview annoy you?

Have loads of applicants for a mother help job. I work 4 days and am struggling to ring everyone back in the one week day available to me (whilst toddler raises merry hell in background!)

Would ringing applicants (at a civilised time) on a Saturday be acceptable do you think?

It wouldn't bother me, but you should also say that if its not convenient then you can call back another time.

I'd hate to have to do a job interview while my DCs were screaming and fighting in the background!!

As long as you don't ring too early - they may be having a lie-in . I would be ok with that - especially if it was a job I really wnated

notyummy were are you ? i ask because i hav enot had a single applicant for a mothers help job we have posted on gumtree, i am now considering an au pair ...not keen but absolutely desparate and can i ask what hrs and pay you are offering, wondering wether we ar enot offering enough

Sounds like you had a great response. I think calling them on Saturday would be acceptable. If they are looking work then they shouldn't complain as long as yu call them at a civilised time.

Hi mummydoc

I am in Lincolnshire. I only need help 2/3 hours a day (4 days a week) max, and really wanted to avoid an au pair as i didn't want someone living with us. We are offering £9 an hour which is a v good rate for round here, but it still works out cheaper than an au pair. It may also help that I asked for someone specifically early in the morning (6 30am - 8 30/9am), so it could fit in around another job or study.

Have you it in the job centre? It is free to advertise there and I have had loads of good quality candidates (NNEB qualified etc)
