I am a student nurse looking for a nanny agency.
Can anyone recomend one?
Mainly to drop or pick up from school?
How much will it cost me per week?

What area are you in?

lindseyfox · 04/04/2009 09:06

depends where you are www.kidsmatter.uk.com are nationwide.

To find your own nanny you could try

www.nannyjob.co.uk
www.netmums.co.uk
www.gumtree.com
www.findababysitter.co.uk
www.childc are.co.uk

or put an ad on here

you may find a nanny with own child is more liklely to be willing to do school pick up and drop off so 8-9am and 3pm- whenever you need them.

A nanny with own child will be about 25% cheaper.

Rates will be from £6-£10 an hr net depending on where you live, nannies quals and experience and whether you choose a nanny with own child.

a childminder would be cheaper

depends how much you want to spend?! where you are in the country and what hours you need ?

a nanny would be better, if your hours of work are going to be anti social?

which i am guessing they will be? as a student nurse ?

although saying that some CMers do offer anti social hours, and even overnight care

with a nanny you would be an employer, and have the tax / NI and mileage etc to pay on top of the agreed wage

Good luck

sorry meant to say a childminder would (probably ) be cheaper for 1 or 2 children

so depending on how many children you have ? and what hours etc

Also have you considered asking some of the other student nurses who have children if maybe 4 or 5 of you get together and share your childcare or even one other student mummmy so that one of you never works the same shifts as the other so you can swap children if that makes sense.
