Registering a nanny in Scotland

Hi the family I work for part time want me to be registered so they can claim the childcare element of Tax Credits. As I'm already with an agency, the family will pay a fee to the agency and receive a letter to enable them to claim towards childcare.

My question is this. Once the family have paid the fee and I am registered can I advertise myself as a registered nanny (considering looking for a 2nd job) or do each family that would be eligible to claim the childcare element have to pay a fee to register me to get help with their childcare costs?

Thanks

No idea for sure.
I think that nannies in Scotland are not registered in there own right, it is the agency that is registered. Therefore any other family will still need to go via the agency.
May be worth asking CComission.

Thanks nannynick.

You are right, it is the agency that is registered with Care Comission. It's not very clear, I actually didn't think to contact the CComission

This is the first I've had to think about registering, thanks for your reply
