I am finding it so hard.

It is the right thing for me and my family, but I don't know how to put it into written word (which I want to do to cover myself, eg getting paid for notice period). I mind two siblings who I love caring for, so it makes it hard when they are a nice family, I am going to feel so bad giving them notice.

Can anyone share any ideas/phrases or advice with me? I wrote a letter last night which seemed really hard and business like so I deleted it. Need to get one done and printed today!

I would write a business like one covering all the bases, but then before giving it to them sit down and have a chat and explain that you are unable to carry on CMing for X Y Z reasons.

That way it feels much more personal and nice and then give them the letter explaining that it is just the formality and a legal requirement to give them written notice.

If you want my notice letter then just email me at physioangel @ hotmail.co.uk and Ill be happy to share it with you

I would also stick with a businesslike letter but explain verbally (if you feel up to it).

Thanks for your replies, I think I will go with your advice and have a proper chat and then give the letter explaining it as a legal/obligational thing have to do.

We have some prearranged changes in hours and fees coming up so I want to have it all in writing in terms of whats what.

Thanks

would it help if i emailed you a copy of a notice letter i gave to a family? it was business like but mentioned why etc - agree about this should follow a chat.

tell them face to face first then confirm everything in writing - much easier. still business-like but more personal if you talk to them first, especially if you have a good relationshuo with them. good luck

Thanks everyone,I tweaked the letter I had written to make it more personal but with the business stuff still in there, and will have a proper chat with the mum before I give her the letter.

I am going to print two and ask her to sign and date one, that's okay isn't it? Just want to cover myself!
