I had a lady phone me last night at 10.10pm to ask if I had any vacancies. She was quite abrupt and just asked if I any spaces free, didn't appologise for the time of the call. I could'nt help her as I am full, so she rang off. 20mins later she rang again, its now 10.30pm, she asked me the same question, then said 'Oh, have I already spoken to you?'
When I said yes and that it was very late for this type of call she just put the phone down.
Maybe its just me, but 10.10pm ia a bit late to ring someone to ask if you have any spaces going?

Very strange person!

as a parent not a cm - I think calling so late in the evening is very rude. I can understand someone calling on a sunday though (but not so early!) as they may be in a job where they can't make personal calls, so it's v. hard for them to sort out this sort of stuff 9-5 Mon to Friday.

I wouldn't call a stranger before 9am or after 9pm any day.

I have had calls after 10:30pm... as early as 6am.. and on Sundays... I would never do that to someone else except were it an emergency... and I think it VERY rude of people to phone so inconsiderately. I always answer the phone though... as it might be an emergency.

I cannot even mention how many people have phoned and not even said 'hello', just said 'what do you charge?'... it is amazing how so many people have no phone skills or manners... and this is no matter what the time of day or night.

The majority of enquiries I get are pleasant though, and I often end up having long chats with them on the phone... even if I don't have a vacancy (and I havent for yonks thankfully), but to help them in their search, who to call, where to advertise for care etc.

But if you are impolite to me on the call or call after 9pm, don't expect any help.

Are you sure she was calling from the UK?
Could she been abroad and totally forgot about the time difference?

I also wouldn't call a stranger before 9am or after 9pm any day!

unless for emergency

but a July place ! wtf?!

yes totally agree much too late, and she should have apologised. Also with that time keeping, you are well out of it..

Waaaayy too late. But texting late or early I think is more acceptable. Most people turn their mobile phones off at night so that they don't get woken up by them. Anyone calling you in an emergency would be ringing your home phone, wouldn't they?
