title says it all really? feel bad for cancelling on the day. she's sitting for me later in the week.

yes you still need to pay her

she might have turned down other bs work

i have a cancellation of 4hrs money if cancelled within 24hrs

BocciBalls · 25/03/2009 13:02

fair enough, I was only able to leave her a message as she didn't answer her phone, so will speak to her later. would always try to give more notice but only ill since the middle of last night.

any other views on this? ie full price, half contribution etc? we don't have a contract or agreement in the way that you describe Blondes.

Agree with 4 hours pay or at least paid for half of the time she would have babysat for you ie 5 hours pay her 2.5 hours.

i got fed up with turning down bs work as i was booked then got cancelled by the family and then had no work

i make it very clear to parents that if they cancel me they need to pay me 4hrs and so far no one has said they arent happy with it, and if they have cancelled with in 24hrs they have always paid 4hrs worth

i reliese it is not the patrents fault if child is ill etc, but its also not my fault

hope your cd feels better soon

LaQuitar · 25/03/2009 13:29

Yes of course you should pay and it is full pay or min 4 hrs as others have said

AtheneNoctua · 25/03/2009 14:13

I would pay her, too.

At least you saved money on not going out.

BocciBalls · 25/03/2009 14:14

thanks all, will definitely pay her. realise I sounded rather tight! have only used an agency before where it was possible to cancel on the day and not be charged so new to this.

Yes you should pay as she was booked and may have turned down other bookings for you. Like the others said half fee would be fair or 4 hours

lindseyfox · 25/03/2009 15:47

I never used to charge when people cancelled me but after turning down other work I now charge if less than 24hrs notice and charge for the full babysit amount.
