I think it is Wednesday? Not too sure considering the number of times I have had it wrong!

DH's snoring got me up bright and early (though my mood was certainly not bright!)

I have already had two coffees, but there should still be some in the pot.

Off to the Leisure Centre for a Network play session - Mums, are you going??

Morning NO4, afraid not going to the leisure centre - by the time I got there after taking ds3 to nursery I'd have to come back!!

No dh snoring here, hes been sent to switzerland as an emergency, but will hopefully be home tonight!!

I am only working with afterschoolies this week, but have a pp coming friday lunch time - who is flexible so might be able to work around other mindees shift pattern.

Morning all. Managed to drink a whole cup of tea, so the rest of the day should go well.

Shoshe · 25/03/2009 08:03

i am waiting by the phone o hear from DH, he is in Cornwall, training the new team (although he actually isn't, just working in the garage as he is not on the road with this years team) anyway.

MIL phoned last night to say DH Gran has had a stroke and not expected to recover, so DH is trying to arrange transport back to here (He didn't take his car with him this week)

I can get him a flight from Bournemouth to Glasgow at 6.30 tomorrow morning (at least I am usually up at 4, so no worry about the early start)

But I cant book it till confirmed he is home, so will be staying here today till I hear.

Just read my Ofsted inspection report I know it wasn't overall Outstanding BUT I'm still very happy as I've found it all really hard since having the baby and EYFS coming in when I first started back. Anyway, I can now say I got an Overall good with 6 areas being Outstanding and I LOVE the way she's worded it so I'm VERY happy

Having said that...........I'll never be as good as Katy!

Numberfour · 25/03/2009 17:34

looneytune, that's wonderful! new baby and getting that grade is a real achievement.

Well done!

I think it would be interesting to look at a 'Good' grade with a few outstandings vs an 'outstanding' grade with a few goods - iyswim

BTW Congrats Looney

looneytune · 25/03/2009 18:37

Cheers

Katy - I always thought that the OVERALL grade was something to do with having all at a certain level or above i.e. only get OVERALL O/S if o/s in ALL areas etc....?

Numberfour · 25/03/2009 19:19

i recently learned at a Support Childminders meeting that when the new grading came in, OFSTED were not going to give an overall grading of good, outstanding etc. However, they have changed their mind and now will be doing so.
Even if you have some "good" categories, you can still get overall outstanding. Under the previous system, if you were given 4 outstandings but only 1 good, then you were "Good" overall, but now you can have good for different sections and an outstanding overal..

Says she, who got SATISFACTORY nearly 3 years ago !!

i met the standards and i am proud of it!

No4 - that explains it, thanks for that If I'd got 2 more o/s areas then I'd have had just over half so as I've less than half of the areas as o/s then it makes sense to get a Good as overall - damn, just a few more might have done it!!!

KatyMac · 25/03/2009 21:41

My network co-ordinator read them all today & she thinks that mine is more of a 'setting' OFSTED & the 2 co-minders that were done, were a bit half hearted and not very comprehensive as the 'setting' one is the one that counted which made us all feel a bit

I think maybe they need to re-jig how they do group settings
